Kate Peterson and Sarah Cleaver

Singer/songwriters Kate Peterson and Sarah Cleaver came together in November 2004 and have since officially unified as a “pleasantly aggressive folk” duo. Both have independent releases, as well as two EP’s released together in 2005. They have toured steadily throughout the year. Thier first tour, named the "Torch Song Evolution Tour," incorporated a selection of songs by women artists like Holly Near with the intention of “passing on" those songs to a younger generation. In thier workshop, they will share classic songs of the women’s music movement as well as more contemporary favorites.

Workshop

Women's Music / 2:40-3:40 pm

Please join Kate and Sarah in this women’s music singing extravaganza.  Together we will share songs spanning the past 30 years of women’s music and have a brief discussion about the impact of these women’s voices. We will highlight a wide range of women’s voices from Holly Near and Sweet Honey in the Rock to Ani Difranco and the Indigo Girls.  Singers of all ages are welcome, and younger people are especially encouraged to come share your voices!
