Betsy
Clinton has been a familiar name for children and parents for nearly
20 years. As a children's performer, she has delighted young and
old alike with her own brand of spirited, spontaneous humor that
is her own secret blend. Betsy has extended her love of music to
workshops, joining with teachers and parents to encourage musical
experiences in young children. Whether she is making goony faces
to the toddlers, or getting an entire room of teachers to sing along
with her, you rarely know what is coming next. Betsy has years of
expereince behind her, both as a performer and educator. As a member
of the contemporary trio, Second Opinion, Betsy traveled throughout
the states performing and recording for over a decade.
Her twenty years as a teacher in both special education and early
childhood gives her a unique insight and experience with the needs
of a young child. Betsy also was a member of the Very Special Arts
program, an organization dedicated to promotion of music and arts
experiences for special education students. A resident of St. Johns,
Betsy lives in an old farmhouse with her husband, 4-year-old son,
as well as an assortment of dogs, chickens and turkeys!

Songs
for Children / 12:20
to 1:20
Parents and Teachers, Do you ever find yourself wishing you
could encourage your children to enjoy music more, or provide
some new musical experiences for your children to explore?
Enjoy singing to your son, daughter, grandchild, or student?
Wish that music could help solve some of the behavior problems
that sometimes arise with young children? This is the workshop
for you. Betsy will take you through a wide range of songs
and music, showing techniques to invigorate, calm, focus,
or just enjoy music at it's most basic levels. Bring a tape
recorder, and expect to sing along. Children are welcome and
encouraged, but the workshop is actually designed for the
adults wishing to use music more in children's lives.
