As part of the Singing Festival, The City of East Lansing will sponsor a FREE Children's Concert, presented by the Michigan Wolf Trap Sampler: Wanda Degen, Corrine Rockow and Susan Harrison. They will entertain the crowd with sing-alongs, storytelling and puppetry. Kids of all ages are encouraged come to the Hannah Community Center and sing folk songs.
Wolf Trap is a National Park in Vienna, Virginia dedicated to the Performing Arts. Through Wolf Trap's Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, the Michigan Wolf Trap Program has Teaching Artists who conduct residencies & workshops training teachers of young children to incorporate the Performing Arts in to their classrooms.
This interactive concert brings together three singers: Lansing-based Wanda Degen, Susan Harrison from Kalamazoo and Corinne Rockow from Marquette.
All three are long-time Wolf Trap Teaching Artists and all three have performed individually at the Children's Concert Series in the past, but never before all together. Fingerplays and Signed English, as well as guitars, dulcimers & the autoharp will be used to accompany the fun and lively songs.
