|  Sam Herman grew up listening to Traditional/Old Time/Folk music; at age 11 he was inspired to start playing the Banjo from the music of Pete Seeger. He plays Clawhammer, Frailing, Thumb Lead, and Two Finger Style. He has been teaching history through music at the Michigan Historical Museum and has been part of the Looking Glass, and Ten Pound Fiddle music organizations for 4 or 5 years.
